And so it begins...

Updated: Aug 25, 2018

There have been two things in life I've always wanted - to be a mom and to pursue my dreams and own my own photography business. In 2018 I made those dreams a reality.

My mom said I would walk around with my plastic "cram-rah" toy taking pictures of everything when I was a little. When I was older and semi responsible, digital cameras became a thing and I had my fair share of those. Fast forward to my late teen years - I got my first DSLR and after school and weekends were spent exploring, photographing my friends, and posting on livejournal/tumblr.

It was a pretty easy decision to go to photography school. From 2009-2010 I attended Boston Universities Center for Digital Imaging Arts, we were in class for 8 hours a day diving into all aspects of digital photography. I graduated and was both excited yet scared. Could I really do this? How do I even get started? I was only 20 and still had a lot of growing up to do. I went back to work and did small photo jobs here and there.

I “re-met” my now husband in 2011 while he was home on leave from The Navy. We knew each other way back when and I bumped into him one night in Providence. He went back to Hawaii and shortly after left on a 9 month deployment. My life those next 9 months consisted of written letters, 10+ e-mails a day, packages back and forth, skype “dates”, etc. I found myself on a plane to Hawaii immediately after he returned, and instantly knew I was going to marry him. We got married two years later on Waimanalo Beach in Hawaii, he was hired as a firefighter in Middletown, RI, and we bought our first house.

With the exception of taking a year off to go to photography school, I kept the same job for 12 years. I was an assistant manager/sales specialist/inventory control/appraiser/engraver/etc at an amazing jewelry shop in Foxborough, MA. Even after moving to Aquidneck Island I did the 45 minute commute for three years. I was trusted to run the business for weeks at a time and the experience/knowledge was incredibly valuable.

I got pregnant with my daughter in the summer of 2017. My life long dream of becoming a mother was coming true and my husband and I couldn't have been more thrilled.

I have a beautiful, healthy four month old daughter who I get to be home with while running a business at the same time. My. Very. Own. Business! I have met amazing clients already in 2018 and cannot wait to see where this journey will take me. Creating lasting memories and capturing true love through photographs is quite amazing. I never take your trust for granted. Whether it be a family session, engagement, wedding, etc...these are moments that you'll be able to cherish forever. There's nothing more rewarding than that.
